In collaboration with writer Alexandra Citra.
This photoseries was created to pair with her bilingual piece. Written in both English and Indonesian, Alexandra unpacks here experience rediscovering herself after the loss of her grandmother.
The goal was to create images that were complimentary but would not overpower her emotional piece.
The photoseries to have a constructed boundary where the models would play around an invisable mirror acting as if they were reflections of one another. Only for the photoseries to continue and for that falsly presented boundary to be broken and for them to embrace one another.
Alexandra’s poem was handwritten on tattoo stencil paper and tattooed on each model. One model in all the English script and the other in Indonesian. Their arms and hands meet where the lines would in the writing.
